Sakurai bombarded with Smash 6 requests after responding to Switch 2 Nintendo Direct

Masahiro Sakurai, the mind behind Super Smash Bros, has been flooded with character suggestions for Smash 6 following his brief commentary in relation to the potential Nintendo Switch 2 announcement.

It was announced by Nintendo on February 4th that they will be holding a dedicated event focusing on the Switch 2, scheduled for April 2nd, 2025. During this event, they plan to share additional details about the console and its launch games.
