To kick off “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” there was an emotional duet performed by Sabrina Carpenter and Paul Simon.
They sang “Homeward Bound,” a song that Simon had played on the show back in 1976 alongside George Harrison. Interestingly, Carpenter remarked that not only was she not yet born at that time, but neither were her parents.
Following their act, the pair declared the famous opening line for the iconic show, “Broadcasting live from New York, it’s Saturday evening!
