Ryan Reynolds’ Spirited Becomes a Streaming Hit 3 Years Later

I think a lot of people recognize Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, and he’s absolutely fantastic in that role! But I’m really enjoying seeing his Christmas movie become so popular right now – it’s quickly becoming a holiday favorite for me!

The new holiday movie Spirited, a fresh take on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, is currently the sixth most popular film on Apple TV, according to FlixPatrol. As of November 28th, the musical comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, Rose Byrne, Octavia Spencer, and Tracy Morgan is performing better than other titles like Highest 2 Lowest, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Fountain of Youth, and The Gorge, which round out the top ten.

In the new film, Ryan Reynolds plays Clint Briggs, the latest challenge for the Ghost of Christmas Present, and his actions start to make Present question his purpose. While Reynolds and Will Ferrell aren’t known for being singers, they perform surprisingly well in Spirited. The movie is directed by Sean Anders, who also directed Instant Family, Daddy’s Home, and Horrible Bosses 2. Anders co-wrote the screenplay with John Morris, adapting the story from Charles Dickens’ famous Christmas tale.

Ryan Reynolds is joining two well-known franchises. He was recently confirmed to be starring in a new movie, where he’ll play an original villain alongside Mae Schenk.
