Indie games have thrived on Steam this year, despite the high expectations following the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Just recently, Escape From Duckov surprisingly surpassed Battlefield 6 in popularity. Now, another indie hit, RV There Yet, has quickly sold over 1.3 million copies in just one week.
RV There Yet is the first game from Nuggets Entertainment, and it’s a cooperative experience for up to four players. Players drive an RV through a dangerous, off-the-beaten-path route in Mabutts Valley. The challenge is to navigate obstacles the RV couldn’t normally handle. To do this, players have to get out of the vehicle and use tools like a winch in clever ways. As you can see in the trailer, not all attempts go smoothly! The group of friends also has to watch out for wildlife and snakes, so an EpiPen is an essential item in their toolkit.
According to SteamDB, RV There Yet had over 100,000 concurrent players in its first week. Nuggets Entertainment community manager Jace Varlet subsequently posted the following video, in which he thanks players on behalf of the team. He also explains why the game wasn’t marked as “early access.”
Nuggets Entertainment was surprised by the game’s popularity. They initially focused on simply finishing and releasing it on schedule, with no plans for additional content. However, that might be changing now. Varlet has also admitted there are bugs, and the team is committed to fixing them.
So, I was checking for RV There Yet on consoles, and unfortunately, there aren’t any plans for a console release right now. But good news – it’s on sale on Steam for only $7.19 until October 28th, when it goes back up to its normal price of $8. The developer, Nuggets, is also working on a new game called Among the Wild, but it’s still a ways off from being finished.
