In addition to the Weekly Famitsu magazine providing additional information about the gameplay system, it’s worth noting that there are two significant changes from previous series games. Firstly, the protagonist now has the ability to use dance moves to manage various crops all at once, including watering and harvesting. Secondly, each season will be tied exclusively to a particular village location throughout the year.

The magazine also disclosed a list of 12 characters who can potentially be married and have children within the game, but this isn’t an exhaustive list. For the first time in this series, Marvelous has decided that even if the player doesn’t initially choose a character as their protagonist, they may still become eligible for marriage within the game. So, if you select Subaru, for example, it would be possible to marry Kaguya instead, and conversely, if you pick Kaguya, Subaru could also be chosen as a spouse.

Famitsu’s official webpage has so far revealed 6 of the 12 marriage candidates, who are as follows:

  1. Hina: A were-animal vixen who works as an archaeologist and visits Azuma via Mauro’s airship.
  2. Iroha: The poster girl of the Iroha Teahouse in the Spring Village.
  3. Matsuri: An Azuma goddess who manages Summer and Swords.
  4. Ulalaka: An Azuma goddess who manages Spring and Fun.
  5. Mauro: A foreign adventurer who travels around the world with an airship.
  6. Murasame: A samurai who focuses on training and collecting swords while traveling around Azuma.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma will be available worldwide for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
