Robert Pattinson Responds After Jennifer Lawrence Says She Served Him ‘Trash Food’

Okay, so you’ve probably heard about Jennifer Lawrence‘s hilarious story about that dinner party? Well, Robert Pattinson actually talked about it while we were getting excited for their new movie, Die, My Love – it’s a really intense psychological thriller coming out in 2025! Someone asked him about it, and honestly, his reaction was so Robert Pattinson – totally cool and a little bit mysterious. It’s great to see them having fun together promoting the film, even with stories like that floating around!

While at the premiere of Die, My Love, Robert Pattinson was playfully questioned by Entertainment Tonight about Jennifer Lawrence’s well-known story of once feeding him food she’d taken from her trash can. He had a funny reply:

It was delicious. So she must have a really nice trash hole.

Perfect, odd, and on-brand response from the Micky 17 star. No notes.

Lawrence shared a funny story about a surprise visit from the Tenet actor during a girls’ night where everyone was wearing pajamas. She got flustered when he asked for a snack and discovered she’d already eaten everything. While he was using the bathroom, she quickly dug some leftover scraps out of the trash. When he asked for more, she confessed the only food available was from the garbage. Apparently, he didn’t mind at all and helped himself to the leftovers.

The story about the chaotic dinner party is exactly the sort of bizarre but charming event only these two actors could create, and it’s providing a welcome bit of humor during an otherwise difficult time for the film’s publicity. Their new movie, Die, My Love, is a dark and intense story. It features the former teen stars as a married couple, Grace and Jackson, where one character, played by the Mother! star, experiences a severe mental breakdown after giving birth, while Pattinson portrays her increasingly distressed husband. They’ve already been in the news for a daring dance scene involving a tiger, and Lawrence has been very open about how challenging it was to film both physically and emotionally.

Even though they weren’t always visible on camera, it was clear the two were having a good time together. Longdon-born actor, speaking to ET, expressed surprise at how smoothly things went when working with Lawrence, adding that collaborating with her was…

I’ve been a huge fan of hers for a long time and always dreamed of collaborating with her. It was surprisingly easy to connect and work with her – we became friends quickly. She’s incredibly talented, down-to-earth, and a naturally gifted actress. The whole experience of working together was fantastic.

Okay, so she’s an amazing actress, obviously, but apparently this woman is an incredible cook! I read that even her leftovers look like something a chef would plate. And get this – one of her Twilight co-stars genuinely couldn’t tell the difference! That’s… honestly the wildest compliment I’ve ever heard. It’s hilarious and kind of brilliant that someone could make even their trash taste good enough to fool another actor!

The feeling is mutual. In a past interview, Lawrence playfully described their friendship, saying:

He’s really like one of the girls – loves to chat and catch up on gossip. He reminds me of a daughter, and he’s a wonderful dad and very professional. My only worry is whether he’s remembered to eat!

So, about that terrible on-screen meal… some fans (including me!) have started calling Robert Pattinson “Trash Pattinson,” and I’m definitely on board with that nickname. It’s unclear if the studio will use it in their marketing, but it feels perfectly fitting that the star of The Batman would be eating garbage and pretending it’s a fancy meal.

I’m so excited for Die, My Love to come out on November 7th! It sounds like we’re going to get even more of that quirky, amazing connection between the two leads – both in the movie and, apparently, in real life! Honestly, if they invite you to dinner, maybe peek at the garbage beforehand… just saying!
