Robert Pattinson Re-Teams With A24 for Unsettling Thriller Based on Dateline NBC Show

Okay, so Robert Pattinson is going to be everywhere in 2026! Not only has he officially started shooting The Batman Part II, which we’ve all been waiting for, but he also has a bunch of other projects coming out. One I’m particularly intrigued by is Primetime, a crime drama that looks really promising.

Robert Pattinson and Zendaya recently collaborated on the A24 film, The Drama, which proved successful. Now, they’re joining forces again for a new A24 project called Primetime, inspired by the true crime show To Catch a Predator. A short preview of the film has just been released by A24.

What Happens in Primetime?

The new show, Primetime, takes inspiration from the early 2000s TV program Dateline NBC with Chris Hansen. Robert Pattinson stars as the host who exposes men involved in hidden camera operations at a sting location.

The brief preview features footage from various camera angles, accompanied by a voiceover from Robert Pattinson as Hansen. He asks, “What if I hadn’t been here? Notice how this appears?”

Ultimately, people are responsible for their choices. And speaking of choices, if you watch TV, you might want to pay attention, because I’m Chris Hansen from Dateline NBC, and you’re about to witness something remarkable.

The new crime thriller was directed by Lance Oppenheim. Robert Pattinson leads the cast, alongside Merritt Wever (known from Severance), Anna Faris (Scary Movie), Skyler Gisondo (Superman), and Phoebe Bridgers.

Robert Pattinson has collaborated with A24 before, notably on the 2019 film The Lighthouse and The Drama, both of which were critically acclaimed.

Primetime doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s set to release in theaters in the fall of 2026.
