Okay, so I just heard Robert Pattinson talking, and it sounds like he’s actually open to playing Edward Cullen again if they ever made another Twilight movie! He was on Vanity Fair doing a lie detector test while promoting his new film, and he straight-up said he’d do it. Seriously, this is getting all the Twilight fans, including me, super excited. I didn’t think we’d ever see him back as Edward, but you never know!
Robert Pattinson wants to play 17 again in another Twilight movie
As a big movie fan, I was really surprised to hear Robert Pattinson might be willing to revisit his role as Edward Cullen! He became a household name playing the teenage vampire in all five Twilight films between 2008 and 2012, and he’s recently suggested he’d consider stepping back into those sparkly shoes. It’s interesting to think about where he’d take the character now.
While publicizing his new movie, Die My Love, with Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson participated in a lie detector test with Vanity Fair. Lawrence playfully asked if he’d reprise his role in a potential new Twilight film, and Pattinson immediately answered, “Absolutely!”
Lawrence seemed surprised by the response and playfully said he didn’t think it was a good idea, but agreed anyway. The actor then laughed and said he’d love to, joking that he enjoys taking roles from younger actors and would like to play a teenager again. The polygraph examiner confirmed that Pattinson was being genuine.
After Stephenie Meyer’s popular Twilight novels became a worldwide success, fans immediately started wondering if a new movie or a remake was in the works. However, there haven’t been any official announcements about a new Twilight project yet.
Robert Pattinson remains very active in his career. He has three movies planned for 2026—The Drama in April, The Odyssey in July, and Dune 3 in December. Plus, he’s returning as Batman in The Batman Part II, which is expected in 2027.
