Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner Found Dead in Apparent Homicide

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, have tragically died in what appears to be a homicide. The family released a statement saying they are deeply saddened by the loss and request privacy as they cope with this incredibly difficult time.

On Sunday evening, the Los Angeles Fire Department discovered two people dead at the home of director Rob Reiner. Initial reports from TMZ identified the victims as Rob and Lynette Reiner, and indicated they had suffered knife wounds. People magazine reported the deaths were likely caused by their son, Nick. However, LAPD detective Alan Hamilton stated that police have not yet identified any suspects or persons of interest, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Rob Reiner, son of comedian Carl Reiner, first gained fame playing Archie Bunker’s son-in-law, “Meathead,” on the TV show All in the Family. He went on to become a successful director, known for films like This Is Spinal Tap and When Harry Met Sally. He also founded Castle Rock Entertainment, the production company behind Seinfeld and numerous other film and television projects. Interestingly, his wife, singer and photographer Michele Singer, took the cover photo for Donald Trump’s book, The Art of the Deal. Later, both Rob and Michele became outspoken critics of Trump’s political career. They were also key figures in the effort to overturn Proposition 8 in California.

Tracy Reiner, the adopted daughter of Rob Reiner and Penny Marshall, was stunned and speechless when speaking with NBC News. She shared, “I was raised in the most wonderful family, and I just don’t know what to say – I’m completely shocked.”
