Danny Dyer, a beloved character on U.K. screens, known for his global impact following the success of “Rivals” on Disney+, will take the lead in an upcoming movie.
In the film titled “Three Quick Breaths,” currently being filmed in Ireland, Dyer is set to portray a soccer agent dealing with stress. The feature film has been procured for the U.K. and Ireland by Vertigo Releasing, while Sunrise Films will oversee global sales and debut it at the European Film Market in Berlin. A sneak peek of the movie has been revealed by Vertigo.
Three Quick Breaths” introduces Dyer as Jimmy Banks, a veteran agent on the verge, struggling to secure one final lucrative contract for his client before his own life and the player’s reputation disintegrate. The film delivers a gripping, tense narrative that immerses viewers in the gritty, thrilling realm of cutthroat football agents who thrive on mega-deals and are willing to sacrifice everything else to achieve them.
“Three Quick Breaths” stars Dyer as Jimmy Banks, a seasoned sports agent fighting to land one last big contract for his client before they both face ruin. This action-packed, high-stress thriller takes us deep into the shady yet exhilarating world of agents who live for massive deals and are ready to burn everything else to the ground in their pursuit of them.
As a movie buff myself, I’m excited to share that I’ll be diving into the director’s chair for an upcoming project, titled “Pilgrimage” or “The Cellar,” originally penned by the talented writer, Peter Howlett. I can hardly wait to bring his unique vision to life on the big screen!
As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming movie I’m involved with is being brought to life by an exceptional team. Paul Kennedy, known for his work on “Nightride,” is producing it for Village Films. Richard Bolger, who has graced us with “Father, Mother, Sister, Brother,” is on board from Hail Mary Pictures. Patrick O’Neill, renowned for “Kneecap,” is also a part of this project under Wildcard. We have the backing of Screen Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen, which is truly encouraging. The filming is happening right here in Ireland, with post-production slated to occur in Northern Ireland. I can’t wait to see this cinematic journey unfold!
Dyer shared that filming ‘Three Quick Breaths’ in Ireland has been an extraordinary adventure, despite the fact that he spends most of his time holed up in Jimmy Banks’ office. Jimmy is a captivating character who manages chaos, yet there’s immense depth to him. This role as the sole performer in a film is a unique opportunity for an actor like me, almost like playing Hamlet. It’s a masterfully crafted piece and I feel privileged to be a part of it,” said Dyer.
Rupert Preston, Ed Caffrey, and Greg Martin serve as executive producers for their respective entities – Vertigo Releasing, Screen Ireland, and the production – on this film. The lending institutions are Credit Film Fund 2 (CFF2) and Three Point Capital.
Muldowney expressed great enthusiasm about working on Peter’s captivating script for ‘Three Quick Breaths’. He described it as a script that is both humorous and suspenseful, with an unexpected emotional depth. Moreover, he considers one of the most compelling characters he’s ever encountered in a screenplay to be James ‘Jimmy’ Banks. Single-actor, single-location thrillers can create an intense atmosphere, and Muldowney is eagerly anticipating collaborating with Danny to bring Jimmy Banks to life on screen in all his complex glory.
Representatives from Vertigo Releasing and Sunrise Films commented: “Danny Dyer is an exceptional actor of his generation and a true British icon who resonates with the public at large. With the distinctive storyline and Brendan Muldowney’s directing prowess, this project promises to be revolutionary. We are excited to handle both UK distribution and worldwide sales through Sunrise Films.
I’m fortunate to be represented by Denee De Emmony of Independent Talent, just like Brendan Muldowney is.
