2025, I’m thrilled to share that my adventure in the open-world action RPG, “Rise of the Ronin,” is coming to Windows PC via Steam! KOEI TECMO America and Team NINJA have been working hard to bring this award-winning game from PlayStation®5 to our screens. As a masterless warrior in the Bakumatsu era, I’ll embark on an epic journey, shaping my destiny amidst war and political turmoil.
The Steam version promises enhanced PC features like compatibility with ultra-wide monitors, 8K resolution, and super-smooth 120fps gameplay, plus immersive 3D audio for a truly captivating experience! Can’t wait to get my hands on this one!
In 1863 Japan, following three centuries under the Tokugawa Shogunate’s rule, the West’s Black Ships arrive, causing chaos. A Ronin now holds Japan’s future. As players navigate through this tumultuous era, they’ll meet historical figures. The decisions players make, such as deciding whether to eliminate or safeguard critical political figures like Ryoma Sakamoto, will shape not only their journey but also the game’s various outcomes.
During gameplay, you’ll have the freedom to tailor your weapons and playstyle according to your preference, immersing yourself in an intricate yet approachable combat system. The selection of melee weapons includes swords like katana, spear, and odachi, each with distinct styles. This versatility allows for a wide range of battle strategies and tactics based on the kind of opponents and their weapons players encounter. Additionally, you’ll find long-range weapon options such as guns and bows to adapt to different scenarios.
In this game, you’ll not only delve into the blended cultural settings of Edo, Yokohama, and Kyoto during the Bakumatsu era, but also witness the breathtaking vistas transform with each season, from cherry blossoms in spring to autumn leaves. Furthermore, you can traverse rooftops using a grappling hook or glide through the skies with an Avicula glider, all while capturing your favorite panoramas using the photo mode feature.
Individuals who buy the game prior to April 2, 2025 will be rewarded with an early purchase perk: a collection of four unique combat styles (Hayabusa-ryu for Katana, Haybusa-ryu for Naginata, Nioh-ryu for Katana, Aisu Kage-ryu for Katana) plus the Iga Ninja armor set and an Iga Ninja’s katana. Pre-ordering can be done now.
