Riot Games Launches In-Game Events To Raise Funds For LA Fire Victims

In response to the destructive wildfires that have swept through different areas of Los Angeles lately, Riot Games is stepping up with a plan. Within the upcoming week, they will initiate in-game charity events across popular titles such as League of Legends and Valorant. The collected funds will be directed towards those who have been adversely affected by the fires.

During challenging times like these, when the path to recovery seems long and arduous, Riot CEO A. Dylan Jadeja expressed his gratitude that we’re all navigating this global situation side by side. He extends a heartfelt thank you for everyone’s continued support.

Beginning next week, the EX.O Collection in Valorant’s in-game marketplace will be renamed the “Give Back Bundle.” Proceeds generated from sales of cosmetics within this bundle will be contributed to Riot Games’ Social Impact Fund. This fund, sponsored by ImpactAssets, is designed to provide aid during humanitarian crises. The Give Back Bundle will be accessible for purchase from January 22nd to the 30th.

Regarding League of Legends, players can anticipate an extended charitable campaign, beginning with Firefighter Tristana being released exclusively for this cause. Similar to Valorant’s Give Back Bundle, the revenues generated from purchasing Firefighter Tristana will be donated to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. Firefighter Tristana can be obtained between Thursday, January 23 and Wednesday, February 5.

Beyond the in-game charity events, Riot Games recently initiated a “double donation” drive among its staff last week. This initiative encouraged employees to triple their contributions to numerous firefighting and humanitarian organizations such as the California Fire Foundation, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, International Medical Corps, American Red Cross, and World Central Kitchen.

Additionally, Riot Games has made direct contributions to both the California Fire Foundation and the International Medical Corps. However, it isn’t just Riot that’s taking action; Sony has also stepped up by donating a substantial sum of $5 million towards firefighting aid efforts in Los Angeles.
