Super Bowl commercials often feature trailers for big franchises like Marvel or movies based on ‘Wicked,’ so everyone was surprised when Brad Pitt appeared looking exactly like his character from the movie ‘Babylon.’ It wasn’t a sequel to that film, or ‘Bullet Train,’ but a new project altogether. The trailer revealed Pitt is reprising his role as Cliff Booth, the character he won an Oscar for in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.’ This time, however, the story – titled ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’ – will be a Netflix series, written by Tarantino and directed by David Fincher.
Not much is known about this new film, and the short trailer doesn’t reveal much either. It appears to be a 1970s-set crime story, with scenes of drinking, swearing, and smoking. We see Booth seemingly starting a business venture with Elizabeth Debicki, who plays a powerful figure. The supporting cast includes Scott Caan, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, and Holt McCallany. In a brief exchange, a gangster challenges Booth, who responds with a playful quip. Currently, there’s no release date or rating information available, but the amount of violence and strong language suggests it will likely be rated R.
