Capcom previously announced a showcase event planned for early 2026, and now they’ve revealed the date: January 15th at 2 PM Pacific Time / 5 PM Eastern Time.
The Resident Evil Showcase will feature fresh gameplay footage and updates on Resident Evil Requiem, the latest game in the series, which is scheduled to launch on February 27th. Currently, that’s all Capcom has officially announced, so it’s unclear what other surprises they might reveal.
Alongside the upcoming game, Sony is also making a new Resident Evil movie. It will be directed by Zach Cregger, known for his work on Weapons and Barbarian, and is scheduled for release this October.
In 2026, the Resident Evil series will celebrate its 30th anniversary. It’s currently unknown if Capcom has any special events planned for the milestone.
Besides the Resident Evil Showcase, Xbox is holding a Developer Direct event on January 22nd. We can expect to see news and updates on games like Fable and Forza Horizon 6, as well as other projects.
Okay, so in Resident Evil: Requiem, you’re playing as a new character, Grace Ashcroft, but get this – Leon S. Kennedy is also playable! It’s awesome being able to switch between them. The game comes out on February 27th, and I’m hyped because it’s hitting PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and even the new Switch 2!
