At the conclusion of the Capcom Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase event, it was announced that the Japanese developer and publisher had news concerning the Resident Evil series. To be precise, this pertains to Resident Evil Re:Verse, a multiplayer game they released over a year following the launch of Resident Evil Village, which can be described as a “survival revenge battle” experience.
After its initial launch, Re:Verse was later included with the regular version of Village across PlayStation, Xbox, PC (Steam) versions of the game. Unfortunately, this multiplayer game has been announced to be shutting down by the Japanese developers and publishers in the upcoming weeks. More details can be found in the FAQ section of the announcement notice.
Unfortunately, we have to announce that we will be discontinuing all services and support for Resident Evil Re:Verse as of June 29, 2025. We appreciate the loyalty and enthusiasm from our Re:Verse players throughout these years!

As a dedicated fan, I eagerly awaited the launch of Resident Evil Re:Verse on October 28, 2022. Over the following months, we saw numerous updates such as costume packs, new maps, survivors, and terrifying creatures. These additions were all part of a roadmap plan that was shared on their official channels. The game promised an exhilarating competitive deathmatch mode, similar to those in the Resident Evil series.
However, the content revealed through the roadmap didn’t meet the expectations of many ardent fans like myself. Despite the initial anticipation, the game didn’t resonate as strongly as we had hoped.
In the previously mentioned announcement, Capcom clarified that Resident Evil Re:Verse was created to honor the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series. However, they expressed that this marks a significant shift for the series as well. They further stated that since Resident Evil Re:Verse has fulfilled its intended, festive role, on March 3rd, 2025 at 4 pm UTC, Resident Evil Re:Verse will be taken down from all digital marketplaces along with nine content packs, including the Premium Pass.
The multiplayer game will continue to function up until June 30th, 2025 at 6:59 pm UTC, after which it will be deactivated and all services associated with it will cease. Also, as of that date, Resident Evil Re:Verse will no longer come free with the standard edition of Resident Evil Village. Capcom has specified that players should use their RP Boosters by this date, as they will become invalid once the game services end, which also applies to the content included in the Premium Pass.
