Resident Evil Requiem Story Expansion Officially Coming Soon

director Koshi Nakanishi promises an upcoming expansion to the game’s terrifying story.

Koshi Nakanishi, the director of Resident Evil Requiem, recently shared a thank you message to fans via the official Resident Evil Games social media. He expressed the development team’s gratitude for the support that has helped the game sell over five million copies since its February 27th release.

We recently released an update to fix several problems, and we’re continuing to work on any remaining bugs and improve performance. But we have more exciting news! We’re adding new content, starting with the long-awaited photo mode. Plus, we’re planning to release a mini-game around May as a special surprise.

Nakanishi confirmed continued support for Resident Evil Requiem and then reviewed promotional materials. He highlighted a story expansion that’s currently being developed, explaining, “We’re planning more story content that will explore the world of Requiem in greater detail. We’re working hard on it now, but it will take some time, so we appreciate your patience and hope you’re excited about it.”

In Resident Evil: Requiem, players once again step into the shoes of Leon S. Kennedy as he investigates strange deaths connected to those who survived the original Raccoon City disaster. The game lets you play as both Leon and Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst and the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak.

The game begins with Grace experiencing a condition called Raccoon City Syndrome, which draws her to the Wrenwood Hotel – the same place where her mother was killed years ago. There, she’s kidnapped by Victor Gideon, a scientist who used to work for Umbrella. Luckily, Leon is investigating the same case and arrives just as it happens, allowing him to pursue the kidnapper.

Since it launched, Resident Evil Requiem has received generally positive reviews. As of today, Metacritic gives it a score of 89 out of 100, based on 128 reviews from critics. Players seem to love it even more, giving it a 9.5 out of 10 rating based on over 11,600 reviews.

You can now play Resident Evil Requiem on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows computers.
