Panasonic and Capcom are collaborating to create a special neck speaker inspired by Resident Evil: Requiem. This wearable device aims to enhance the gaming experience with immersive surround sound, making the horror even more intense for players.
As a huge Resident Evil fan, I’ve always been blown away by how important sound is in the games. Seriously, being able to hear what’s coming – like a monster – is often the only thing that keeps you alive. It’s not just about being spooky; it’s a core part of how you survive and avoid a game over!
Capcom hopes to heighten the fear factor in their new game, Resident Evil Requiem, launching February 27th, by using a unique neck speaker to deliver immersive sound.
Resident Evil Requiem is about to get even scarier
The product page states that this device provides four-channel audio and includes a “Horror Mode” designed to make sounds like footsteps, breathing, and distant groans more clear and noticeable.
The Biohazard Requiem Edition neck speaker is designed with a striking “bloody red” color and includes a startup melody inspired by the game. It also features a custom app interface and special packaging showcasing the new character, Grace Ashcroft, and iconic scenes from Raccoon City.
Panasonic highlights that this device has been certified for excellent sound quality by Capcom’s sound team, promising a truly immersive and frightening gaming experience.

Similar to other Panasonic SoundSlayer models, this Resident Evil edition has 38mm speakers delivering 3W of power, a long-lasting battery, and stereo sound. It can also automatically switch to four-channel surround sound for a more immersive experience.
Right now, this collaboration seems to be only available in Panasonic’s Japanese store. There’s no word yet on whether it will be released internationally, so fans outside of Japan might have to buy and import it if they want to enjoy the unique sound experience it offers.
The Resident Evil Requiem neck speaker will be available in Japan starting February 26, 2026, and will cost ¥35,200, which is about $224 USD.
