The latest Resident Evil game, Requiem, has fans buzzing after it was revealed that Leon S. Kennedy is married. However, Capcom hasn’t yet revealed the identity of his wife.
Evidence from unlockable concept art and cutscenes in the game’s story reveals Leon Kennedy wearing a wedding ring.
After Grace and Leon escaped from ARK, a quick glimpse of the ex-police officer’s ring finger was visible when he took off his gloves.
Capcom refuses to reveal Leon’s partner
When questioned about Leon’s mysterious partner, the game’s director, Koshi Nakanishi, didn’t offer a straightforward response.
“The answer will become clear some day,” he told Eurogamer when pressed on who Leon is married to.
A big question surrounding Resident Evil Requiem is a ring seen in the game, which many fans believe suggests Leon and Ada Wong are married. However, this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
Leon rarely talks about what’s important to him, but he’d instantly risk his life to help someone in danger. Nakanishi wondered, what does his ring represent? Is it a symbol of his determination, or a promise he made?
Leon’s wedding ring, as it appears in one of the final cutscenes of Resident Evil Requiem’s campaignCapcom hasn’t revealed if the new partner character is someone fans are familiar with or a brand new face, which has led to a lot of speculation.
So, a lot of people have been asking for Claire Redfield to be playable, and honestly, I get it! She and Ada Wong are both popular choices because we’ve seen them team up with Leon in games like Resident Evil 2 and 4. It’d be awesome to play as her again!
Even Nick Apostolides, the voice actor for Leon, hasn’t been told about the mystery surrounding the game. He says it’s entirely up to Capcom to share any information.
Don’t expect to find out who Leon married anytime soon. If recent rumors are true, Capcom is working on a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica next, and Leon isn’t the main character in that game.
