It appears that Instagram might be attracting TikTok content creators to its platform by offering them monthly incentives of as much as $50,000.
On January 18, 2025, a restriction on using TikTok in the U.S. was implemented, causing content creators to hastily share their work on alternative platforms as the deadline approached.
On Monday, January 20, President Trump issued an Executive Order to prolong the enactment of the ban for 75 days. However, if no sale occurs before this period ends, there’s a possibility that TikTok could still be prohibited afterwards.
As per The Information’s report, Meta seems to be attracting TikTok content creators towards Instagram Reels by offering substantial incentives and short-term exclusivity agreements.
Instagram Reels reportedly offers $10k-$50k bonuses
Not long after The Information released their report, it quickly spread on social media platforms, including X account Walter Bloomberg, who chose to share it.
Meta is enticing creators with substantial TikTok fan bases by providing them monthly bonuses between $10,000 to $50,000 for sharing videos on Instagram Reels before they appear elsewhere. Companies similar to Meta in the social media industry that rival TikTok include YouTube owned by Alphabet (GOOGL), Pinterest (PINS), Reddit (RDDT), and Snap (SNAP).
As a gamer, I’ve learned from The Verge that to unlock those hefty rewards, I’ll need to keep my Reels running for a specified duration first, only then will I be able to share them on other popular platforms like TikTok.
Meta is enticing popular TikTok creators with monthly cash incentives worth between $10,000 and $50,000, encouraging them to post videos on Instagram Reels instead of other platforms. This information comes from Kaya Yurieff and Sylvia Varnham of The Information.

Previously, Meta has also provided substantial rewards for content creators who share videos on Instagram Reels, not a novel occurrence. This initiative was initiated last July 2021, and the company swiftly started offering bonuses that could reach up to $35,000.
Instagram’s rumored incentives for creators follow closely on the heels of Meta unveiling its upcoming video editing application, Edits, intended to compete with ByteDance’s CapCut. However, users will have to exercise patience as Edits won’t be available until March 2025.
