Release date for Silent Hill 2 Remake on a new platform has leaked. Coincidentally, it was revealed by Microsoft itself

Update #2 (November 9, 4:37 PM)

According to TrueAchievements, the Xbox Store briefly showed a listing for the Silent Hill 2 remake, suggesting a release date of November 21, 2025. It’s currently unclear if the game will launch on the Switch 2 at the same time, and there’s no information yet about whether the Born From A Wish expansion will be included.

Update #1 (October 7, 5:27 PM)

Bloober Team may have even bigger plans than just releasing the Silent Hill 2 remake for Xbox Series X/S and the upcoming Switch 2. According to industry insider Dusk Golem, they’re also developing the Born From A Wish expansion, potentially launching in 2026. This timing would coincide with the release of Return to Silent Hill, a movie based on Silent Hill 2, which is currently scheduled for January 23, 2026.

Original message (October 7, 9:45 AM)

Fans are speculating that Silent Hill 2 Remake could be released not just on Xbox Series X/S, but also on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This hope stems from recent findings on the game developer’s website.

It’s been expected for a while that the updated version of the classic Silent Hill 2 would be released on Xbox consoles. Sony previously announced over a year ago that the remake of Silent Hill 2 would be a PlayStation exclusive until tomorrow, October 8, 2025.

While it doesn’t reveal the exact release date for Xbox Series X/S, it looks like Bloober Team won’t make us wait too long for Silent Hill 2 Remake to come to more platforms. Fans noticed (through a Reddit post by PracticalSubstance99) that the game’s official website now includes space for two additional platforms alongside PC and PlayStation 5.

The Xbox Series X/S is definitely one platform for the new Silent Hill game. The other is almost certainly the Switch 2. Since SH 2 Remake is already out on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.com, it’s unlikely to appear on any other consoles besides Nintendo’s.

Bloober Team is also currently developing a remake of the original game in the series, along with a few other new projects.
