An Item Shop’s Tale HD Edition will be available in 2025 from EasyGameStation. Currently, there are no additional details disclosed regarding its release.
Back in 2010, Recettear debuted on Steam, with translation work done by Carpe Fulgur. This made it a significant milestone, as it was one of the first Japanese games available in English on PC platforms. In fact, we had a chance to review this game here on our RPG site over 14 years ago.
As a devoted admirer, I’m excitedly sharing the news that Carpe Fulgur’s founder, Andrew Dice, hinted at further details about the HD Edition on Bluesky. He mentioned that we can anticipate more disclosures in the upcoming year, keeping us on the edge of our seats! Regarding additional specifics, it remains unclear whether the HD Edition will be a standalone title or if an upgrade path will be offered through Steam.
Automaton has shared side-by-side comparisons of the current version and the upcoming edition, along with initial high-definition images from the HD Edition, which are available in the gallery below.
