Bodycam recently received a huge update, significantly improving its realism. However, Reissad Studio isn’t stopping there – their team of over 100 developers is already working on even more improvements.
So, the new patch for the game, which the devs are calling ‘Zombie & Polish,’ just dropped! Basically, they’ve been working hard to make everything run smoother and fix a ton of bugs. It’s not just under-the-hood stuff either – the textures look way better, and there’s some new content added too. You can check out a preview in the trailer below.
Bodycam – Details of the first major update
Okay, so the biggest news for us players is they’ve upgraded the game to Unreal Engine 5.5 – it was running on an older version, 5.2, before. This is awesome because it lets them use features like Lumen and Virtual Shadow Maps, which makes everything look way better! The devs just dropped a message detailing all the cool new stuff, and here’s what I think are the most important updates.
- Optimized GPU and CPU usage on all major maps.
- Implemented key fixes requested by players and testers.
- Released the largest map – Village – in Zombie mode.
- Added a crossbow in the same gameplay variant.
- In Zombie mode, improvements were made to sound, frame rate drops were fixed, and existing errors were addressed.
- A new map has appeared in the multiplayer (one of the largest in the game) called CQB Powergun. It’s based on a real airsoft playground located in France.
- A map voting system has been introduced at the end of rounds.
- Loading times have been shortened.
Reissad Studio also wanted to clarify that the Zombie mode is intended as a fun, secondary feature. They plan to use it as a testing ground for new ideas that will eventually be implemented in the main multiplayer mode. While they’ll continue to update the Zombie mode, the focus will be on making it incredibly realistic rather than fantastical.
The team is currently fixing server problems, improving the anti-cheat system, and completely overhauling the user interface. We expect the next major update to resolve some of these issues, and the developer will share more details in the second episode of the “Devlog,” which is coming out shortly.
You can currently buy this game on Steam for a reduced price of $26.65 – it usually costs $33.32. This offer is valid until December 2, 2025.
