The team behind the realistic game Arma Reforger has been suggesting for some time that a single-player campaign was in development, nearly two years after the game initially launched. Recent online leaks confirm that this highly anticipated mode will be arriving soon (according to GameStar).
Arma Reforger – first materials from the campaign
Content creators who tested the 1.6 update for *Arma Reforger* are now posting gameplay videos of the campaign. The restrictions on sharing this content ended with the official live stream showcasing the new map.
The upcoming single-player campaign is officially called *Operation Omega*. According to early reports, it will be split into five sections and take around an hour to complete. Bohemia Interactive may add to this story with future chapters.
If spoilers don’t scare you, below you can watch a video focusing on the campaign content.
Okay, so the story for *Operation Omega* is seriously cool. I’m playing as a US special forces operative who has to sneak into a massive Soviet military base. It’s set on this island called Kolguyev, and it’s actually a revamped version of a map from the original *Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis* – which is awesome because I loved that game!
What about the 1.5 update?
Bohemia Interactive recently shared that the upcoming 1.6 update will essentially combine the content previously planned for update 1.5. The developers are considering them as a single, larger update, meaning features like the Kolguyev map and the single-player campaign will now be released with version 1.6.
Krzysztof Bielawski, the designer behind *Arma Reforger*, clarified that a recent change is due to internal technical reasons only and isn’t connected to any issues with the upcoming 1.5 update – a concern some players had.
We still don’t know when the new map and campaign will be released, according to the developers. Fans will need to be patient and wait for more details about update 1.6.
