It seems like jokes about the robots taking over are becoming reality after EngineAi, a Chinese robotics company, demonstrated the strength of its new T800 humanoid robot by accidentally kicking its CEO while showing off its capabilities.
EngineAi is a robotics company quickly gaining prominence in Shenzhen, China. Founded in 2023 by robotics expert Zhao Tongyang, it’s becoming a key player in China’s booming technology industry. Tongyang, who is in his mid-30s, previously contributed to the development of Xpeng’s IRON humanoid robot before starting EngineAi.
The team created the T800, a life-sized humanoid robot, in just two years. It’s become incredibly popular online thanks to its surprisingly realistic movements. Videos of the robot doing quick Kung Fu have gone viral, and some people even thought they were watching computer-generated images instead of a real machine.
EngineAi released a new demo showcasing its technology from multiple viewpoints to address doubts. In a bold move, the company’s CEO personally demonstrated the robot’s safety by standing directly in front of it while it operated.

The video captures the T800 firmly planting its foot, swinging its leg, and powerfully kicking Tongyang. The CEO is launched backward, but the robot stays steady and shows no reaction.
Tongyang explained later that the impact was so strong, nobody could have handled it without protection. He said it would have broken anyone’s bones.
The T800 will be available for $25,000, and the first deliveries are scheduled for June 2, 2026, or sooner.

So, I’ve been following EngineAI, and it looks like that CEO sparring video wasn’t just for fun! Apparently, it’s a sneak peek at their “Robot Boxer” reveal on December 24th. They’ve been hinting for weeks that they’ve built a seriously tough, combat-ready robot – like a T800! – and it seems like all these demo clips were planned to build hype for the big reveal, not just random stuff they threw out there.
The name ‘T800’ isn’t accidental. It’s the model number of the famous Terminator robots from the movies, like the one Arnold Schwarzenegger played.
As incredibly lifelike AI robots become more powerful – some can now even overpower a full-grown adult – the idea of a future like the one in the movie ‘Terminator’ doesn’t seem so far-off anymore.
If EngineAi ever reveals a liquid-metal T1000, it might be time to panic.
