LawByMike, a lawyer and content creator, playfully ‘investigated’ Caseoh’s imaginary Goob Lagoon waterpark and determined it would be responsible for damages potentially totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.
No, Twitch streamer Caseoh doesn’t own a waterpark in real life. But his ‘Goob Lagoon’ waterpark within the game Waterpark Simulator has become incredibly popular online, so it’s understandable why some people might believe it’s a real location.
Okay, so Caseoh’s been streaming this game, and it’s gone totally viral! Seriously, the hype is *real*. Fans are so into it, they’ve actually chipped in to buy billboards and even rent space on trucks to advertise the fake park from the game. It doesn’t even *exist* in real life, but people are treating it like it does! It’s wild.
The number of ‘injuries’ and ‘deaths’ among visitors to Goob Lagoon has become a running joke among fans, and this has spread beyond the online community. It’s even led to fans creating a website that looks official, designed to help ‘injured guests’ file claims for compensation.
Even though Caseoh’s time at Goob Lagoon has ended, the online streams about it became so well-liked that a real lawyer investigated the made-up waterpark. They wanted to determine how much legal trouble it would face if it were a real company.
Lawyer says Caseoh would owe $400M for ‘crimes’ at Goob Lagoon
LawByMike is a skilled attorney located in Los Angeles, California. He has experience handling cases in several legal fields, including personal injury, criminal defense, and entertainment law, among others.
In addition to running his own law firm, he also makes videos for YouTube. In these videos, he explains the legal issues faced by well-known online personalities and simplifies the complexities of the legal system for his audience of 15 million subscribers.
On September 30th, LawByMike posted a video examining Caseoh’s Goob Lagoon. He investigated numerous reports of guests getting hurt – from injuries on risky water slides and slips on wet floors, to even being hit by Caseoh after vandalizing the park with graffiti. He analyzed all these incidents.
Mike also highlighted issues with health and safety rules, like when Caseoh found trash and human waste in the Goob Lagoon pools. LawByMike explains that each of these problems counts as a separate offense, potentially leading to hefty fines and significant jail time.
Naturally, he didn’t gloss over the incident where Caseoh used a taser on a person in a pool, resulting in electrocution and the deaths of everyone who was swimming in it.
“This is now a case of mass murder,” Mike stated. “We’re dealing with three murder charges, and Caseoh will likely be imprisoned for life. The possibility of the death penalty also exists, depending on the location of his incarceration.”
He did acknowledge, though, that Caseoh might claim he wasn’t aware of the potential consequences of using the taser near the pool – however, he considered this argument to be unconvincing and doubted it would influence a judge’s decision.
Based on daily reports from Caseoh, Mike discovered approximately 22 deaths had occurred at Goob Lagoon. The park also had many health and safety issues – including violations of health codes, OSHA regulations, and multiple employment-related lawsuits – which could potentially result in fines totaling $399 million.
Taking into account other legal cases brought by employees and penalties for breaking regulations, he calculated the total cost to be around $400 million – and that doesn’t even factor in the potential jail time Caseoh could be facing.
Mike estimated that Caseoh could face approximately 3,000 years in prison for charges including criminal negligence, battery, battery with a deadly weapon, involuntary manslaughter, and second-degree murder.
“This is the scariest waterpark I’ve ever seen,” Mike said. “…Caseoh, I really enjoyed watching you play this game. I think everyone should watch more episodes of this series.”
So, Caseoh hasn’t said anything about that potential prison sentence yet, but I’m guessing his viewers will let him know pretty quickly. It’s a bummer his time at Goob Lagoon is done, though. Honestly, it’s probably a good thing considering all this (totally made-up) legal drama. Hopefully he’ll be back to streaming soon!
