As a total movie and book nerd, I’ve been obsessed with Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One and Ready Player Two – they’re basically a love letter to everything I grew up with, all wrapped up in these amazing sci-fi stories. The movie version of Ready Player One back in 2018 was fantastic, and now it looks like the world is getting even bigger with two new releases coming out. Seriously, if you’re a fan, you absolutely won’t want to miss these!

Fans are looking forward to both Ready Player One and its sequel, Ready Player Two, with the first book already getting a movie adaptation. Now, both novels will be adapted into graphic novels before the second movie comes out, and people are already getting excited about these new versions.

Entertainment Weekly has revealed that a graphic novel adaptation of Ernest Cline’s popular book, Ready Player One, will be released as a special edition hardcover at Target stores on October 6, 2026. A more widely available version will follow on March 2, 2027, at all bookstores. A graphic novel version of the sequel, Ready Player Two, is planned for release in 2028.

DC Comics veteran Scott Peterson and acclaimed illustrator Meredith Laxton are leading the effort to reimagine the world of OASIS. Peterson is known for his work on titles like Batman: Gotham Adventures (1998–2003) and the Batgirl series from the 2000s, and Laxton is celebrated for their illustrations in Wait Till Helen Comes (2022).
