Razer introduced a new device that uses AI to create a physical desk companion, bringing virtual assistants – even legendary League of Legends player Faker – to life in your workspace.
I was so excited to see what Razer brought to CES 2026, and Project AVA totally blew me away! It’s this incredibly cool 3D holographic AI companion – basically a little animated character that sits right on your desk. You can even reserve one online now, and it’s powered by xAI’s Grok, which means the conversations should be really smart and engaging. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Razer is introducing Project AVA, an AI assistant designed to help people be more productive, as tech companies increasingly focus on creating AI companions tailored to individual users.
Okay, so Razer’s working on something called Project AVA, and it’s basically an AI buddy for everything. Seriously, it can help me plan my day, even break down complex stuff like spreadsheets, and it’s learning all the time based on how I use it. It’s not just pre-programmed; it actually adapts to my habits and needs, which is pretty cool. They say it can even analyze my game starts… so maybe it’ll finally tell me why I always lose in the first five minutes!

Razer brings AI companions into 3D space
Razer’s Project AVA is a smart desk device designed to help you with everyday tasks. It uses cameras and microphones to understand your workspace and respond to your needs, offering features like scheduling appointments, translating languages in real-time, analyzing spreadsheets, and providing helpful information based on what’s happening around it.
I’m so excited about these new holographic figures! They’re about 5.5 inches tall and come in this cool clear case, perfect for displaying on my desk. And at first, you get to pick from five different avatar designs, which is awesome!

The lineup features Ava, a unique Razer logo-inspired avatar, along with four characters – Kira, Zane, Faker, and Sao – the latter of whom gained popularity online for resembling actress Sydney Sweeney. Razer notes that these avatars are still being refined and could look different when they’re officially released.
Razer says Project AVA is currently powered by Grok, but they plan to add support for other AI systems later on.
While the price hasn’t been revealed yet, the company says Project AVA should be available starting in the latter half of 2026. Interested customers can make a reservation now with a $20 deposit.
I remember last year when things got really interesting! Elon Musk actually challenged Faker’s team, T1, to go up against his AI, Grok. And of course, T1 immediately said yes – they’re always up for a challenge! It makes me wonder if we’ll see another showdown between them sometime soon.
