Popular streamer RaKai recently shared his thoughts on why streaming can be more demanding than a traditional workday, adding to the ongoing discussion about the challenges of the job.
So, I’ve been hearing from a lot of streamers lately, and it’s kinda crazy. Even though making content and streaming can actually be a full-time job now, it’s still tough to be taken seriously by, like, banks and stuff. Some people have even been denied mortgages or new bank accounts because their income isn’t ‘traditional’. It’s a real struggle when your job isn’t seen as ‘real’ work, you know?
People have long debated whether it’s more challenging to be a content creator or to have a traditional job. Many streamers have shared their opinions, often arguing that their work is actually more difficult than a typical 9-to-5.
PlaqueBoyMax received criticism for suggesting his job is more difficult than others, at least in some respects. However, Kai Cenat strongly disagrees, dismissing anyone who believes streaming is more demanding as foolish.
Rakai says Twitch is harder than working at McDonald’s
RaKai, a streamer who often collaborates with Kai and has become very popular, actually believes streaming is more challenging than Kai’s work.
He explained that becoming successful is difficult, and maintaining that success is even harder. He described it as a really challenging process.
Man, it’s like, some jobs are just totally mindless, you know? Like a 9-to-5 where you’re just bagging fries at McDonald’s. You don’t have to think, you just hand someone their food and that’s it. It’s just…nothing really to it.
RaKai argues that streaming is actually more challenging than a traditional job. He points out that gaining a large audience is difficult, and even after achieving success, maintaining that level of popularity requires constant effort. He contrasts this with the simplicity of a job like working at McDonald’s, where tasks are straightforward and easily completed.

RaKai mentioned he and other streamers feel it’s simpler to just follow instructions than to independently solve problems.
The streamer has faced some difficulties on Twitch recently, including a ban from the platform in early December. While some reports suggested a two-year ban, that wasn’t accurate. He’s been consistently streaming since the beginning of 2026.
