Routine is a sci-fi horror game played from a first-person perspective. It’s incredibly immersive, but can be a little confusing at first – you actually learn the ropes by reading tutorials within the game, on computer screens. While this is a clever approach, some players might get stuck. That’s where we come in – we’ll guide you through the game, help you open the locked elevator, and move the story forward.
How to find the elevator door code in Routine
Leaving the bedroom, you’ll find yourself in a dark hallway. If you turn right, you’ll see a window with a view of the moon, and two doors beside it. One door is closed – that’s the elevator, but it’s locked for now. Instead, choose the passage on the other side of the hallway; it will open the door.

- In the room, take CAT from the table. This device will be quite useful later. For now, start reading a tutorial that will be shown on the wall in front of you.
- After a few slides, you will see that it is necessary to get a battery for your CAT.

- Go to the next room and interact with the Battery Recycle Point. Your character will take a battery.
- Next, go back to the tutorial on the wall.

- The next step is to inspect your “gun.” The proper key is prompted (R).
- Finally, you must press the button marked on the screen above. It will unlock an interactive menu on the wall.
- Press “Database” to learn the code – 7539.
- Now, you can go back to the elevator and input the door code.
- All you need to do at this point is to interact with a computer in the center of the elevator and press “Gateway.”
Good luck.
