Puma drops Pokemon basketball collection with Pikachu sneakers and new apparel

Puma just launched its new Pokemon basketball line, featuring high-performance shoes and clothing inspired by popular characters. The collection will be available this week.

Leading the new collection is the All-Pro NITRO 2 Pokemon basketball shoe, which debuted in March. It’s joined by coordinating jerseys, shorts, and t-shirts decorated with popular Pokemon characters like Pikachu, Mew, Mewtwo, and Squirtle.

The complete collection launches on April 2nd at PUMA.com, PUMA stores, and a few other retailers. The All-Pro NITRO 2 Pokemon shoes cost $140, and clothing items range from $45 to $75.

Mewtwo jersey and galaxy shorts lead the drop

A highlight of the collection is a Mewtwo basketball jersey. It has a galaxy design with “Pokemon” written across the front and a Pokeball near the shoulder. The number “0150” – Mewtwo’s official Pokedex number – is printed on the back.

The coordinating mesh shorts continue the space-inspired look, completing the outfit. It’s designed like Puma’s basketball uniforms but features Pokémon designs.

Other items in the collection include:

  • A black Pikachu tee with electric effects and gold graphic lettering
  • A pink gradient Mew shirt with graffiti-style branding
  • A blue tie-dye Squirtle tee with “Gotta catch ’em all” text
  • Additional graphic shirts featuring Pokeball designs and stylized Pokemon logos

The collection merges Puma’s basketball style with iconic Pokemon designs, creating clothing that works for both athletic activity and everyday wear.

This new release is part of the ongoing celebration of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. Earlier this year, an airline in Japan unveiled airplanes decorated with designs from the original Pokémon games – they were named Jet Red, Jet Blue, and Jet Green.
