PUBG: Battlegrounds is teaming up with Stellar Blade, a highly anticipated game from 2024. PUBG, formerly known as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is a well-known online game where up to 100 players parachute onto an island and battle to be the last one alive. Players search for weapons and gear while avoiding a shrinking safe zone that forces them into closer and closer confrontations.
Although PUBG isn’t as popular as it once was, with games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone attracting a lot of players, it remains a significant game. PUBG has sold over 75 million copies and is one of the best-selling PC games ever. It became free-to-play in January 2022, bringing in even more players, and the developers, PUBG Studios, have consistently updated the game with new maps, content, and features. Now, they’re taking things a step further with a collaboration with Stellar Blade.
PUBG x Stellar Blade Crossover is Coming Soon
PUBG recently shared a trailer on Twitter hinting at a new collaboration with Stellar Blade. The trailer introduces Eve, Stellar Blade’s main character, as a playable character joining the battle royale. Developers have been teasing this partnership for a while, and while a specific release date hasn’t been announced, more details are coming soon. Players can likely expect an exclusive Eve skin in the in-game store, and other themed items like weapon skins, parachutes, and emotes may be available through special missions and challenges – similar to past PUBG crossovers.
Released in 2024, Stellar Blade is a popular action-adventure game set on a post-apocalyptic Earth. Players take on the role of Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad, as she fights to save humanity from a dangerous enemy known as the Naytiba. The game was a huge hit for developer Shift Up, selling over 3 million copies worldwide by June 2025. Shift Up has a history of successful games like NieR: Automata and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, and they’ve already announced a Stellar Blade sequel. Because of the franchise’s current popularity, other gaming companies are eager to partner with Shift Up on future projects.
Players are excited about the upcoming collaboration between PUBG and Stellar Blade, especially the chance to unlock a new character skin inspired by Stellar Blade‘s Eve. This partnership is expected to revitalize PUBG‘s player base, as interest in battle royale games like Fortnite has been declining – Fortnite has even had to make recent layoffs. Despite some disappointment that PUBG no longer supports older consoles like Xbox One and PS4, fans are optimistic about this crossover and future updates to the game.
