Krafton, the South Korean company known for the popular game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is investing heavily in artificial intelligence. They’re putting 100 billion Korean Won (around $70 million) into becoming a company where AI is central to everything they do.
In a recent announcement on October 23rd, Krafton CEO Kim Changhan outlined plans for a major overhaul of the entire company. This includes changes to how work gets done, how employees communicate, and the company’s overall management structure.
Krafton is planning to use AI to streamline its operations and introduce AI-powered management tools. This will free up employees to concentrate on more creative work and challenging issues, instead of getting bogged down in routine tasks.
Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about this ‘Agentic AI’ thing, but it’s actually been around for a while now. Basically, it’s AI that can just do stuff on its own, without needing someone to constantly tell it what to do. Think self-driving cars – they figure things out and drive themselves, right? Or those automated ticket systems, or even systems that protect us from hackers. It’s not as hyped up as things like ChatGPT, but honestly, it’s already powering a lot of stuff we use every day.
Krafton revealed today its long-term plan to become a company powered by artificial intelligence. This strategy will focus on ‘Agentic AI’ – a type of AI that can independently set goals, create plans, and use various tools to automate complicated tasks.

So, what does being “AI-first” actually mean for Krafton? Basically, as Changhan put it, they’re putting AI at the center of everything – using it to fix problems, boost how much we can get done, and ultimately, grow the company for the long haul. It’s about making AI the main way we do things around here.
Krafton is making a significant investment in artificial intelligence, committing almost $70 million to use AI across all areas of its business. Starting in 2026, the company also plans to invest around $21 million each year to help its employees utilize AI tools in their daily work. Krafton aims to fully implement this AI-focused approach throughout the company this year.
The tech industry is rapidly shifting its focus to AI at a moment when things are already uncertain. While some companies and creators, such as EA and Hideo Kojima, are adopting this technology, overall spending on AI is predicted to jump from $375 billion this year to $500 billion by 2026. Despite concerns that an AI bubble might be forming, major corporations continue to heavily invest.
