Extraction shooters are incredibly popular right now. While many options are available, ARC Raiders is currently the most well-known and successful game in the genre.
Okay, so Escape From Tarkov finally hit its 1.0 release, which is huge! But honestly, the parody game, Escape From Duckov, is way more enjoyable than I ever expected – it’s seriously hilarious. And then there’s Bungie’s Marathon…it’s out there, I guess, but it doesn’t really grab me like the other two.
Look, not every extraction shooter nails it, but there are still a bunch to pick from. And now there’s another one, and it’s actually coming from one of the original creators of the Battle Royale genre – pretty cool, right?
Krafton and PUBG Corporation are launching a new game called PUBG: Black Budget. It’s an ‘extraction shooter’ focused on creating a suspenseful experience where players must survive and face unpredictable challenges.
PUBG: Black Budget Will Hold A Closed Alpha Test In December
Like many extraction shooters, this game puts you and your team on a mission to grab valuable, secret technology. You’ll be heading to a deserted research lab on a remote island, but there’s a twist: the island is stuck repeating the same period of time.
After each mission, you can improve your base, create new gear, and become more powerful by upgrading your character.
If you’re interested in trying out the game, a limited test will be available next month on Steam. This “closed alpha” will be open to players in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Russian, English, Chinese, and Korean will be the only supported languages.
If you’re interested in trying out the game early, you can apply for access to the closed alpha through its Steam store page. You can also watch the game being played on Twitch and Chzzk for a chance to win a key to the closed alpha through Drops.
Krafton already has a handy list of system requirements for the game, as indicated below.
