Okay, so PlayStation just dropped some news, and I’m pretty excited! They’re adding 8 new games to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog this month. It’s a really good lineup, including some awesome indie titles from last year and even a massively popular game everyone knows. Just a heads-up, this isn’t the same as the usual free monthly games – we’re still getting one of those, and it actually won a Game Award! But the Game Catalog is a bit different – you need to be a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium member to access those games.
PS Plus Game Catalog additions for November include GTA 5 and a great selection of indies
PlayStation Plus added eight new games to its Game Catalog last month, just in time for Halloween. While this month’s games include a few spooky titles, the selection is generally more diverse. PlayStation announced these games on their blog, and they’ll be available to play starting November 18th.

Grand Theft Auto 5
As many predicted, Grand Theft Auto 5 is the headline addition to the PS Plus Game Catalog this month. It’s one of the best-selling video games ever, second only to Minecraft. Released back in 2013, most people have likely already played it, but if you haven’t, or if you’re looking for a way to pass the time after the recent delay of GTA 6, now is a great chance to experience Rockstar’s acclaimed classic.
Pacific Drive
Okay, so I’ve been playing Pacific Drive by Ironwood Studios, and it’s seriously one of the best indie games I’ve found this year. Basically, it’s just me and my car against this crazy, spooky world. I’m stuck in this weird zone and have to drive out to scavenge for supplies and figure out what’s going on. It’s a really cool mix of feeling totally immersed in the world, actually having to drive and manage my car, and then suddenly being thrown into intense, scary situations. And the best part? I have to constantly come back to my garage to repair and upgrade my car after every run, because things get beat up out there. It’s a great loop!
In Pacific Drive, your car isn’t just how you get around—it’s a key part of the experience. As you explore, it’ll develop strange, unpredictable problems, like the hood randomly opening or the trunk popping open unexpectedly. It’s your job to diagnose and repair these issues while navigating a treacherous landscape and staying safe from dangerous anomalies.
Still Wakes the Deep
Last year saw the release of another fantastic indie horror game called Still Wakes the Deep. Developed by The Chinese Room, this narrative-driven psychological horror game takes place on a remote oil rig off the Scottish coast, and features a protagonist with a convincing Scottish accent. Players must carefully make their way through the deteriorating rig while attempting to rescue the crew from a terrifying, supernatural threat.
Thank Goodness You’re Here!
Switching gears from scary games, let’s look at Thank Goodness You’re Here!, a funny adventure game by Coal Supper. You’ll explore a quirky, cartoon-style town in northern England, taking on strange jobs and meeting even stranger people. The game is short – only a few hours long – but it’s full of silly humor that’s a welcome change of pace from all the horror titles out there.
The Talos Principle 2
I’m super excited to see The Talos Principle 2 added to the Game Catalog! It’s one of those amazing indie games that came out last year. You play as a really advanced robot and basically have to solve these crazy, thought-provoking puzzles from a first-person view. What really got me is how philosophical the game is, and honestly, the environments are way more beautiful and detailed than you’d expect from a puzzle game. Plus, the puzzles get seriously challenging as you go – prepare to have your brain twisted!
Insurgency: Sandstorm
This month, PlayStation Plus is adding Insurgency: Sandstorm to its Game Catalog. It’s a realistic, team-focused first-person shooter that originally came out in 2018 as a sequel to the 2014 game, Insurgency. It was well-received when it launched, and still holds up today with positive reviews – 86% on Steam and a 78/100 score on Metacritic. If you’re looking for a different kind of shooter experience, this could be a great option to try this month.
Monster Jam Showdown
This month, get ready for high-octane arcade racing with Monster Jam Showdown. You can drive real, famous Monster Jam trucks or choose from incredibly wild, made-up trucks inspired by the toys. If you love over-the-top racing with stunts and crashes, Monster Jam Showdown could be exactly what you’re looking for. And it’s not the only new racing game available this month!
MotoGP 25
If you’re looking for a truly immersive racing game, consider MotoGP 25, created by the same team behind Monster Jam Showdown. While Monster Jam focuses on huge trucks, MotoGP 25 puts you on a motorcycle. Though it doesn’t have the same over-the-top destruction, you can race as professional riders and enjoy a career mode with a compelling storyline and key moments that change your path. Racing fans have two great options to explore this month!
Just a reminder that all of these games are part of the PS Plus Game Catalog, which requires a PS Plus Extra or Premium membership. Don’t worry, these games won’t be removed at the end of the month, so you can play them at your own pace. They’ll all be added on November 18th, but keep in mind that they may not stay on the service forever.
