PlayStation just revealed nine new games coming to PlayStation Plus this month through their blog. These additions follow the recent release of Skate Story, which launched a couple of days ago. The new games will be available on December 16th, confirming earlier reports. Most of these games will be included with the base PS Plus Extra subscription, while a select few will be reserved for Premium members.
Nine games will join the PlayStation Plus game catalog next week
Just so you know, these new games are different from the free monthly games that all PlayStation Plus members get. Currently, you can claim games like Neon White and LEGO Horizon Adventures, among others. However, these newly announced games are only for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. The good news is they’ll stay available as long as they’re part of the service, not just for a limited time each month.
Assassin’s Creed: Mirage
Next week, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be added to the PlayStation Plus game library. Released in 2023, this game is a smaller, standalone story within the Assassin’s Creed universe, focusing on the character Basim Ibn Ishaq, who first appeared in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. If you haven’t played it yet, you’ll soon have a chance to do so.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
If you liked Ninja Gaiden 4, you might enjoy Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, a new action game from the same creators. It’s set in China during 184 AD, a time of turmoil during the Yellow Turban Rebellion, and you’ll fight to protect the world from demons exploiting the chaos.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Looking for a massive role-playing game? Check out Granblue Fantasy: Relink! You captain an airship and travel between floating islands with a diverse crew, all in search of a legendary island at the edge of the world. Unlike traditional RPGs, Relink features fast-paced, 3D action combat in real-time. Build a team of four (and play with up to four friends in co-op!) and use powerful team attacks like Link Attacks and Chain Bursts to succeed.
Planet Coaster 2
Planet Coaster 2 lets you build the theme park you’ve always imagined, similar to classic theme park management games. Surprisingly, reviews on Metacritic show it runs just as well – or even better – on consoles than on PC. The key is to balance your creative vision with your budget to keep your guests happy and entertained.
Cat Quest 3
Cat Quest 3 is a fun action RPG that anyone can enjoy, even though it’s full of cat puns! You’ll explore a vibrant open world called the Purribean as a daring pirate, battling mischievous ‘pi-rats’, discovering hidden treasures, completing quests, and meeting helpful friends along the way.
LEGO Horizon Adventures
This month, you have two options for playing LEGO Horizon Adventures. You can get it as a free monthly game with your PS Plus subscription, or play it through the Game Catalog. Even if you don’t claim the free version, the Game Catalog still lets you enjoy this creatively built LEGO version of the Horizon series, which you can play by yourself or with a friend in co-op mode.
Paw Patrol: Grand Prix & Paw Patrol World
Next week, PlayStation Plus subscribers will get two new Paw Patrol games to enjoy. Paw Patrol: Grand Prix is a fun kart racing game for up to four players, similar to Mario Kart. Paw Patrol World is a 3D action-adventure game where you can explore locations like Adventure Bay and Barkinburg. Both games offer a split-screen co-op mode, making them perfect for family game nights.
Soul Calibur 3
As a huge fighting game fan, I’m really excited they’re adding Soul Calibur 3! It’s a classic from the PS2 days, and it’s only available if you’re a PS Plus Premium member. What’s cool is they’ve updated it with some nice features – the graphics have been improved, and you can even rewind and use quick saves. Whether you’re a veteran player or totally new to the series, it’s a fantastic way to jump in and enjoy this awesome weapon-based fighter.
