Preorder The Long Walk Amazon-Exclusive 4K Steelbook Before It Sells Out

You can now pre-order a special 4K Blu-ray version of *The Long Walk* on Amazon. It costs $35, and this limited-edition Steelbook is already the top-selling movie on the site. With its affordable price, the film’s popularity, and unique artwork featuring Mark Hamill, fans of Stephen King should probably order it quickly. It’s likely to sell out, and the price might even increase – right now, the 4K Steelbook is $5 cheaper than the standard Blu-ray version.

Critics love “The Long Walk,” ranking it among the best Stephen King movie adaptations ever made. Currently, it has a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film, directed by Francis Lawrence and written by JT Mollner, features a talented cast including Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill.

In 2025, ‘The Long Walk’ will be the third Stephen King story released in theaters. It’s also the first of these films to be available in a special Steelbook Edition. In 1985, the author revealed that “Bachman” was a pseudonym he used, and collected four books originally published under that name-including *The Long Walk*-in a hardcover edition called *The Bachman Books*. More recently, in 2023, a special limited edition of *The Long Walk* was released by Centipede Press. This month, Scribner published a new paperback edition featuring the movie poster on the cover. Right now, Amazon is offering a sale on this edition, bringing the price down to $14.24 for a limited time.

If you’re planning to buy the hardcover of Stephen King’s *The Long Walk*, you might also want to preorder the hardcover of *The Running Man*. This is the first time *The Running Man* – originally published under King’s pseudonym, Richard Bachman – has been released as a standalone hardcover. It will be available on October 14th for $29. Plus, a new movie adaptation of *The Running Man*, starring Glen Powell and directed by Edgar Wright, is coming out on November 7th. This version is expected to be closer to the book than the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Stephen King Movies on 4K Blu-ray

As we previously noted, *The Long Walk* will be the first Stephen King adaptation released in 2025 with a special Steelbook Edition, but we expect *The Running Man* to get one as well. The two King adaptations coming out in 2025 *without* Steelbook Editions are *The Life of Chuck* and *The Monkey*. *The Monkey*, a horror-comedy directed by Osgood Perkins about a cursed toy, was released on 4K Blu-ray in June and is currently on sale at Amazon for $19.67 (originally $43). *The Life of Chuck*, a fantasy drama directed by Mike Flanagan, will be available on 4K Blu-ray starting September 30th and can be preordered from Amazon for $27.49 (originally $40).

This year has seen several older Stephen King movie adaptations get upgraded to 4K Blu-ray. In June, a special edition Steelbook of *The Dead* was released exclusively on Amazon. *The Dark Half* received a 4K restoration in July, and *Creepshow 2* is coming to 4K Blu-ray later this month as a limited edition from Arrow Video. The 1990 film *Graveyard Shift* also got a 4K Blu-ray release this year, though it’s generally considered a weaker film.
