PowerWash Simulator 2 Review

Lots of video games try to realistically simulate everyday tasks, but PowerWash Simulator quickly became a standout success. It became incredibly popular and earned the title of the ultimate “Dad Game.”

PowerWash Simulator quickly became popular, in part because it was available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, letting many players try it without paying.

PowerWash Simulator quickly became known as the perfect game for dads and anyone who enjoys relaxing, cozy experiences. Players use different power washing tools to blast away dirt and grime until everything is sparkling clean.

The idea behind PowerWash Simulator seemed odd at first, but players quickly found it surprisingly relaxing. Cleaning virtual walls created a calming, almost meditative experience. It was perfect for listening to a podcast or unwinding after a long day, offering just the right amount of activity to keep you engaged without being overwhelming.

Two years after the original, PowerWash Simulator 2 is here, and it’s making a big entrance! It leaves you wondering what exciting new features the developers have added. Will it include something completely unexpected like time travel, or maybe a roster of characters each with their own special skills? Could this sequel be as revolutionary for its genre as Baldur’s Gate 3 was for RPGs?

PowerWash Simulator 2 Is Exactly What You Think It Is

PowerWash Simulator 2 is essentially a more polished version of the original, offering new levels to clean, helpful improvements, and the added ability to arrange furniture.

That description might be a little harsh, but the main takeaway is simple: if you enjoyed the first PowerWash Simulator, you’ll probably enjoy this one too. If you didn’t care for the original, this game likely won’t appeal to you.

Okay, so PowerWash Simulator 2 isn’t reinventing the wheel – it’s still all about blasting dirt away with a powerful washer! But honestly, that’s exactly what I wanted. There’s a ton of stuff that needs cleaning, and you can tackle it solo or with up to three friends. It’s just pure, satisfying cleaning action.

If you didn’t enjoy the first PowerWash Simulator, you probably won’t enjoy this one either.

The game is still incredibly satisfying and relaxing, letting you spray away grime from all sorts of buildings and objects. Just like the original, it features a diverse range of levels, from retro nightclubs to deserted churches – everything is ready for a good cleaning.

What’s New In PowerWash Simulator 2?

The developers needed a good reason to add a ‘2’ to the title, and they’ve delivered with some new content. The biggest addition is a home base that players can customize with furniture after cleaning it up. After each mission, you can buy new items to decorate the base’s living room.

The game limits how many objects you can place, and there are some annoying rules about where they go—you can’t, for instance, put anything on a rug once it’s been placed. Still, it’s a fun break from the main missions, and making a mess while cleaning just adds to the chaos.

Fans of the original game will especially appreciate a new quality-of-life feature added towards the end of each job. One of the most frustrating parts of the first PowerWash Simulator was tracking down the final bits of dirt. Players had to manually check percentages in the menu and then specifically mark those areas to fully clean them.

PowerWash Simulator 2 helps you finish jobs with ease. When you’re down to the last few dirty spots, a helpful target appears, showing you exactly what you’ve missed. This means you’ll spend less time checking menus and more time enjoying the satisfying clean!

I’m really excited about some of the new stuff they added to the power washer kit! There’s this awesome downward-facing spray nozzle that’s going to make cleaning floors so much easier. And get this – they included an abseiling seat, which means you can go straight up and down walls! Plus, they put ladders on the big scaffolding, so reaching the top isn’t such a pain anymore. It all feels way more efficient now.

As you finish cleaning in PowerWash Simulator 2, a target will highlight any remaining dirt you might have missed.

These changes seem minor, but they’re incredibly helpful and players of the original game will immediately notice how they improve the experience by fixing frustrating elements.

One small feature we’ve added is multi-stage levels, where new areas become accessible as you progress. However, these are mostly cosmetic – they don’t fundamentally change the level design, just hide parts until you’re meant to reach them.

Paying For More Powerwashing

While the new content and quality-of-life improvements are welcome, they don’t feel substantial enough to warrant a whole new game. Many of the features in PowerWash Simulator 2 could have realistically been included as downloadable content for the original game.

PowerWash Simulator 2 has a story, but it’s delivered mainly through quick text messages. Honestly, it didn’t really capture my interest, and I wouldn’t bother watching a long video explaining the game’s backstory. I’m not invested in the characters or the town – I just want to enjoy the satisfying act of power washing!

Many of the new features in PowerWash Simulator 2 feel like they could have been included as downloadable content for the original game.

PowerWash Simulator 2 is worth buying for its sheer amount of work to do. If you enjoyed the first game, you’ll likely love this one – it’s more of what made the original great. There’s already a huge amount of content, and the developers plan to add even more through both free and paid updates. If you’re craving a satisfying cleaning experience, this game delivers.

Closing Comments

PowerWash Simulator 2 doesn’t try to be groundbreaking. It understands what its fans want – more satisfying cleaning – and delivers exactly that. If you weren’t a fan of the first game, this likely won’t change your mind. But if you’re looking for a relaxing, simple game to play while enjoying music or videos, this is perfect for you.
