Poppy Playtime, the popular indie horror game that first came out in October 2021, has quickly become a standout title. Its unique and slightly unsettling character, Huggy Wuggy, has become incredibly well-known. And just in time for Halloween, the developers, Mob Entertainment, have released a first look at Chapter 5 – the final installment in the Poppy Playtime story.
The new 45-second trailer gives players a glimpse of the locations they’ll explore in the upcoming chapter, such as labs, hospitals, and even a school hallway. It also shows quick shots of strange, colorful goo covering surfaces, and a fleeting shadow of a massive, spider-like creature.
Just before the final scene – showing a burning Poppy Playtime cardboard cutout covered in slime – the number 5 appears, preceded by a quick message.
A sharp pain pierces through, and the person on the table twists in agony, questioning their existence. Footsteps resound in the large house, mirroring a sense of confusion and displacement. Someone is fixated on a screen, and a warning is issued: you’re mistaken about his motives. The truth remains hidden, and much is still unknown.
The story picks up right after the dramatic ending of Chapter 4, where the player is stuck in an office that leads to a hidden lab—and the door slams shut behind them. When they turn around, they’re shocked to see Huggy Wuggy, who they believed was defeated in Chapter 1, suddenly appear and roar as the screen goes dark.
Okay, so I just found out Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 is finally coming to consoles and PC in 2026! If you’re a PC gamer like me, you can already wishlist it on Steam or the Epic Games Store – I’ve added it to my wishlist already so I don’t forget when it drops.
