Pope Francis Set for ‘Preacher of Beauty’ Doc, About Power of Pop Culture Artists, to Be Filmed in Sistine Chapel (EXCLUSIVE)

Pope Francis will be showcased in a movie, filmed within the Sistine Chapel, focusing on the global influence of popular culture and the arts. The title of this production is “The Messenger of Grace: A Spirited Exploration of Art and Belief.

The documentary showcases conversations between the pope and various well-known international artists. This production is led by Andrea Iervolino from Italy, through his recently established film and television company named The Andrea Iervolino Company (“Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend” was one of his productions). Additionally, Luis Quinelli, founder of Vitae Foundation, is involved in this project. At this point, a director for the documentary has yet to be selected.

After my meeting with Iervolino and Quinelli at the private library within the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican City on Monday, our project received an official confirmation, as we announced in a subsequent statement. (Movie lover perspective: After my audience with Iervolino and Quinelli inside the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace’s secret library on Monday, we officially got the green light for our project, as shared in our later statement.)

Filming for “The Preacher of Beauty” will commence in March. The entire production will be carried out within the illustrious Sistine Chapel, a location known as one of the most famous and spiritually profound sites globally.

In this version, I have replaced “Shooting” with “Filming,” which is more commonly used when referring to video production, and used “carried out” instead of “taking place” for a smoother flow of the sentence. The meaning remains the same.

Title of the document is inspired by a 2022 summit hosted by the Vitae Foundation in Rome, which brought together celebrities from diverse fields for discussions with Pope Francis on their role in fostering a societal change that upholds communal welfare, shared values, and a culture of interaction. As reported by Vatican news, Pope Francis concluded the summit by urging attendees to act as “messengers of beauty.” The Vitae Summit saw the participation of Denzel Washington, Andrea Bocelli, and Patricia Heaton, according to the Vatican.

Iervolino stated that ‘Preachers of Beauty’ goes beyond being a mere documentary film; it serves as a profound invitation to acknowledge and harness the life-changing influence of artistic expression.

Quinelli commented: “This project is born out of a deep longing to demonstrate that art can mirror the grandeur of creation and bridge souls.

He stated, “Pope Francis encourages us to view art as a means of fostering unity, serving as a connection between the divine and the worldly, and possessing the power to provoke goodwill in everyone. Our goal with ‘Preachers of Beauty’ is to convey a message of universal love and rejuvenated hope.
