A brand-new, permanent Pokémon theme park called PokePark Kanto is opening in Japan next February. The park aims to immerse visitors in the world of Pokémon, letting them feel like actual trainers as they explore a bustling town and a sprawling forest based on the popular anime and games. However, while fans are eager to experience everything the park offers, they should know that access to a significant portion of it will be limited by specific requirements.
Pokemon Forest has several rules to ensure visitor safety. The park website states that you must be able to climb 110 steps on your own to enter. For safety reasons, wheelchairs, and children under five are not permitted. Those who are pregnant, have heart or blood pressure problems, have consumed alcohol, or are feeling sick on the day of their visit are also unable to enter the Forest.
The new park will be located inside Yomiuriland, one of Tokyo’s biggest theme parks. It’s divided into two main sections: Pokemon Forest and Sedge Town. Pokemon Forest is a half-kilometer nature walk with hills, tunnels, and stairs, featuring Pokemon statues placed as if they’re living in their natural environments. Sedge Town has shops, attractions, and a gym where visitors can enjoy special Pokemon performances.

Okay, so I’m really excited about visiting, but I’ve been reading up on the rules, and it seems like there are a few things to know. Basically, how much access you get to everything depends on which ticket you buy. If you splurge for the Ace Trainer’s Pass – it’s a bit pricey at 14,000 yen – you get into everything with no restrictions, plus cool extras like skipping the lines, getting good seats for shows, meeting characters, and exclusive merchandise. If you go with the Trainer’s Pass, which is 7,900 yen, you can go to Sedge Town as much as you want, but you’ll need to book a specific time to visit the Forest. They also don’t allow things like drones, big suitcases, or selfie sticks, which is pretty standard. And like most parks, you can’t bring in your own food and drinks unless you’re bringing stuff for a baby or have special dietary needs.
I’m so excited to hear that Sedge Town is going to be easier to get into! The park is planning a special pass just for locals, and they’re aiming to have it available by Summer 2026. The best part is they want to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable while visiting. It’ll also be the most affordable ticket option – adults can get in for 4,700 yen, seniors for 4,200 yen, and it’s only 2,800 yen for kids and guests with disabilities. That’s awesome!
Starting November 21, 2025, at 6 PM (Japan Standard Time), residents of Japan can enter a lottery for tickets to PokePark KANTO by signing up on the official website. You’ll need to create an account and verify your registration with a Japanese mobile phone. The lottery covers visits between February 5 and March 31, 2026, and registration is open until December 8. Winners will be notified in the last week of each month and will need to pay for their tickets between December 21 and December 31. Currently, there’s no information available about how fans outside of Japan can visit.
