New previews from Japanese media give us the best look yet at PokePark Kanto, Pokémon’s first large-scale theme park, before it opens to the public.
PokePark Kanto, first revealed in a Pokémon presentation after initial hints in 2023, is a 26,000-square-meter theme park completely dedicated to the world of Pokémon.
The park is in Inagi City, within Yomiuriland, so guests can enjoy both classic amusement park rides and a peaceful Pokémon-themed area.
Famitsu recently published a preview based on their hands-on experience, highlighting just how large and detailed the new project is.
PokePark Kanto gets first look ahead of public opening
The Pokémon Forest is filled with large, realistic statues hidden among the trees. You’ll find a life-sized Pikachu relaxing under the branches, a Diglett popping up from the ground, and even a Bidoof happily chewing on a tree trunk.
The forest is packed with over 600 Pokémon, and many of them make sounds, creating a really immersive experience for visitors as they walk through it.

Sedge Town is the central area of the park, featuring statues based on memorable scenes from the Pokémon anime. You’ll find designs inspired by the Squirtle Squad, a Smeargle statue reminiscent of the artist Banksy, and larger-than-life scenes of Pokémon battling.
Visitors to the area can look forward to parades featuring giant Pikachu and Eevee characters. And if you get hungry while exploring, there will be plenty of Pokémon-themed treats available, like Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur ice cream floats, a Snorlax popcorn bucket, waffles, and sushi.

In addition to Pokémon statues, you’ll find a Pokémon Center staffed by a real Nurse Joy! Visitors can give her six Poké Balls, just like in the show, and pretend to heal their Pokémon – a fun experience for any fan.

Although the attractions at PokePark Kanto aren’t centered around rides, the preview did feature an adorable merry-go-round with flying Pikachus.
Now that previews are available and the park is set to open on February 5, 2026, PokePark Kanto looks like it will be one of the most elaborate Pokémon experiences ever created in the real world.
