To mark its 30th anniversary, Pokémon is partnering with PUMA for a new sneaker collection, featuring the iconic Pikachu on the latest basketball shoes.
In April 2026, the Pokémon x PUMA All-Pro Nitro 2 “Pikachu” basketball shoe will be released. This is the first time the Pokémon franchise has partnered with a brand to create a performance sneaker for basketball. The shoe is part of a larger celebration of the franchise’s anniversary, which includes several collaborations and new collections.
Pokémon is still the most financially successful media franchise globally, and it’s been collaborating with sneaker brands more and more over time.
In the past, Crocs has partnered with several brands, including Fila (2018), adidas and Converse (2020), Asics (2021), and Clarks and Balmain (2022). They’ve also created popular designs featuring Pokémon. Looking ahead, adidas is planning a special collection to celebrate an anniversary in fall 2026, drawing inspiration from retro styles.

This sneaker is designed with a bright yellow body, inspired by Pikachu’s fur. Red suede details around the laces mimic the character’s cheek sparks, and a reddish-brown heel tab is shaped like Pikachu’s tail, finishing off the Pokémon-inspired design.
This partnership is a first for Pokémon, bringing its branding to a basketball shoe designed for playing the game, instead of just for everyday wear.
Following the unveiling of two new Pokémon-decorated planes by ANA Airlines, fans now have a unique way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the popular franchise.
