Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s Second Set Is All About Sinnoh

Ever since its debut in October, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has rapidly climbed to be one of the most played mobile Pokemon games. In just two short months, it reached an impressive milestone with 60 million downloads, and at least one player amassed a collection of over 50,000 unique cards. Today, The Pokemon Company officially announced details about its first significant expansion, Spacetime Smackdown, which is scheduled to launch on January 30th.

The game “Spacetime Showdown” focuses on the Pokémon generation of Diamond and Pearl, as it emphasizes creatures introduced in the Sinnoh Region. This set’s two versions feature the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia prominently. In this new collection, the three initial Pokémon from Sinnoh – Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup – will debut for the first time in the Pokémon Trading Card Game “Pocket” edition. Additionally, the popular Fighting-type Pokémon, Lucario, is also included.

The Pokemon Company has also made it official that the trading functionality, which was earlier announced, will be incorporated into the Pokemon TCG Pocket on January 29, a day prior to the release of Spacetime Smackdown. From this date, players can exchange cards with their registered friends within the app by using two novel items – Trade Hourglasses and Trade Tokens.

In this trading system, there are a few restrictions: You can only choose cards from Genetic Apex or Mythical Island for trades. Moreover, trades will be confined to specific card rarities, and to make a successful trade, you must exchange cards of the same rarity.

The Pokémon TCG (Trading Card Game) app, which can be obtained without charge, is now accessible for download on both iPhone (iOS) and Android smartphones.
