Pokémon fans can enhance their trips to Japan by booking specially themed hotel rooms decorated with Pokémon characters.
Pokémon is incredibly popular right now! A new Pokémon theme park, ‘PokePark Kanto,’ will open in Japan this February. Plus, Universal Studios parks around the world will soon be adding more Pokémon experiences.
Hotels across Japan are now offering specially designed rooms based on the popular monster-catching game, letting you fully experience the world even during your vacation.
Fans can book family-sized rooms with over 100 Pokemon
MIMARU, a popular Japanese hotel chain known for its family-friendly apartments, has been delighting guests with Pokémon-themed rooms since 2019. They’ve recently updated these rooms and added them to more hotels across Japan, including locations in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.

The newly designed rooms are built around two main ideas: featuring lots of Pokemon and creating a fun experience for families. Each room is decorated with 100 Pokemon on the walls, ceiling, and furniture, and the Pokemon types are chosen to match the room’s purpose. You’ll find water-type Pokemon in the bathroom and Pokemon that love food in the kitchen, for example.

These roomy places offer separate bedrooms, full kitchens, and dining areas, making them ideal for family vacations or trips with a group, whether you’re traveling near or far.
Okay, you guys, these Pokémon-themed rooms are AMAZING! Imagine walking in and seeing a HUGE Snorlax plushie just chilling on the bed! And it’s not just decorations – everything is Pokémon themed, from the tables and chairs to the plates and even the food! They’ve even hidden little Pokémon around the room for you to find, and you get special Pokémon souvenirs to remember your stay. It’s a total dream come true for any fan like me!

MIMARU is accepting reservations for its special Pokemon rooms through the end of November 2026.
These rooms would be ideal for visitors to PokePark Kanto, opening February 5, 2026. The park is quickly gaining popularity online, especially after a video showed a Nurse Joy tending to injured Pokémon at the park’s Pokémon Center.
To fully enjoy PokePark Kanto, a good level of fitness is helpful. The park includes a 1,640-foot nature trail, but reaching it requires climbing 110 steps on your own.
