Preventing the usage of Item cards restricts players from employing potent Pokémon Trading Card Game cards such as Rare Candy, Ultra Ball, and VS Seeker. This is a remarkable advantage for a relatively feeble Pokémon.

The rising fame of Budew might prompt restrictions or prohibition in Japan, a move that could potentially be mirrored in international tournaments once it’s globally launched, thereby affecting its use in English events as well.

Due to the growing popularity of Pokemon TCG Pocket, there’s been speculation about whether Budew will transition to this version of the game. Given the smaller deck size in Pocket, Budew could be equally effective, which suggests it might not migrate over to mobile platforms.
