Pokemon TCG Pocket Player Has Spent A Ludicrous Amount Of Money On The Game

Since its launch towards the end of October, the mobile version of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, known as Pocket, has taken the gaming world by storm. This app allows players to invest real-world money in virtual Pokemon trading cards, although it’s also possible to play without spending a dime. Remarkably, at least one player has invested the maximum amount of funds into this game since its debut, resulting in an extraordinary collection of cards.

According to Automaton’s report, Japanese player Hajimesyacho admitted that they maxed out their daily limit on the Pokemon TCG Pocket app from October 30, 2024 to January 19, amassing over 50,000 cards in their digital collection.

It appears that the daily spending limit for real cash in Pokemon TCG Pocket is roughly 14,000 yen or $120. If Hajimeshacho spent up to this maximum from October 30th to January 19th, he would have spent approximately 1.12 million yen, which equates to around $7,155. This is a substantial amount of money for virtual cards, especially since they’re not physical. Yet, Hajimeshacho seems content, and ultimately, that’s what truly matters.

If Hajimeshacho ever required a specific card, someone else might be pleased to learn that the Pokemon TCG Pocket is introducing a trading system. This addition is expected to roll out within this month. Meanwhile, in other Pokemon updates, there’s reportedly illegal activity involving Pokemon cards among Japanese gangs. However, given the digital aspect of Pokemon TCG Pocket, it’s likely that such criminal activities won’t be replicated with this game.
