The eagerly awaited update for the Pokemon TCG Pocket mobile game is on its way, introducing a highly requested trading functionality. However, the trading system will come with some restrictions.
On their social media platform, Twitter or X, the authentic Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket account shared that a trading function will be incorporated into the game towards the end of this month. The exact launch date wasn’t disclosed, but the post outlined some limitations and associated expenses related to the impending feature.

As a fellow Pokémon Trading Card Game enthusiast, let me share some insights about trading in our game. To start, it’s essential that we maintain friendly relations to exchange cards with each other. The cards exchanged should be of the same rarity, but not every rarity is eligible for trade. In total, there are eight unique card rarities in Pokémon TCG Pocket, however, only a few can be traded. Specifically, we can swap cards that have diamond rarities 1-4 and the 1-star cards. Unfortunately, the super rare, immersive, and crown rarity cards cannot be traded between friends.
The announcement subtly hinted at a fee associated with trading, implying that goods must be used up before swapping them. It remains unclear if this implies players will have to spend Poke Gold or another currency present within the Pokemon Trading Card Game (Pokemon TCG Pocket).
Initially, certain cards from the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island booster packs may not be tradable at launch. However, future updates aim to increase the variety of booster packs that can be traded.
As a passionate player, I can’t help but feel the excitement brewing! In just a few weeks, we’ll be getting our hands on the upcoming booster packs. The developers have promised to share more information about them shortly, so stay tuned!
