The Pokemon Trading Card Game’s (TCG) Journey Together expansion has been spotted in the market over two months prior to its official release date.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m pumped about the comeback of ‘Trainer’s Pokémon’ cards, where each card showcases a unique Pokémon along with its assigned Trainer. The buzz around the English release was so intense that the Journey Together products practically flew off the shelves as soon as they hit stores!
As a passionate collector, I stumbled upon an unexpected surprise earlier than expected – cards from the eagerly anticipated Journey Together set, originally scheduled for March 28 release, have appeared prematurely in public circulation. Intriguingly, one Reddit user posted screenshots of three supposedly found cards within packs of a different Scarlet & Violet-era expansion (151).

In a follow-up to their original post, the author shared more details about their discovery. They mentioned that while they were randomly sorting through 151 packs, they came across three cards that seemed out of place or didn’t match the given set.
They had some trouble determining where the cards originated, but they appeared genuine and the packaging seemed undisturbed. What tipped them off that these cards belonged to a future collection was the “2025” printed at the bottom of each card.

Images showing Hop’s Cramorant, Lillie’s Pearl, and Cinccino (all cards verified for the Journey Together expansion), as well as cards from the 151 set, were displayed in the posted photos, which the author had been opening booster packs of.
In response to this discovery, many people reported encountering similar discrepancies. Many of them believe these inconsistencies stem from print factories facing higher demands and consequently rushing their work.
When there’s intense pressure to produce large quantities swiftly due to the excitement and demand, this is often the outcome,” said one response.
Another person said, “This is the result when printers are run at full speed. Chaos ensues.
On the 15th of January, The Pokemon Company released an announcement, promising fans they are diligently working to boost the manufacturing of the upcoming Prismatic Evolutions collection for 2025, due to excessive demand causing the product to run short, resulting in numerous instances of reselling.
