Pokemon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension DLC launches on December 10 for Switch and Switch 2

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have revealed that the Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension DLC will be available starting December 10th. They also shared a new trailer and screenshots today.

This downloadable content takes place in a futuristic version of Lumiose City, and introduces newly discovered Pokémon that can Mega Evolve. Players who own the original game can also obtain a Diancite and complete a special side quest called “Shine Bright like a Gemstone” to find and catch the rare Pokémon, Diancie.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is now available worldwide on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Okay, Pokémon fans, get ready! The Pokémon Company just dropped a ton of info about the Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension DLC! I’m so excited! It’s coming to Nintendo Switch and the new Nintendo Switch 2 on December 10, 2025.

The DLC takes us back to Lumiose City, but things are getting weird – spatial distortions are appearing! We’ll team up with a donut chef named Ansha and the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa to explore these distortions, which turn out to be portals to a place called Hyperspace Lumiose. Apparently, this version of Lumiose is filled with new Mega-Evolved Pokémon and others we don’t normally find there – and some of them are way stronger than level 100! Hoopa gets powered up by Ansha’s donuts, and she uses berries to make different kinds that give your Pokémon boosts in hyperspace.

We’ll also be working with Korrina, who’s an expert on Mega Evolution, and Team MZ to uncover the secrets of Hyperspace Lumiose and figure out what’s happening to the city. And get this – we’re getting two new Mega Evolutions: Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur! Mega Chimecho creates copies of itself that attack with sound waves, and Mega Baxcalibur gets an even bigger, more powerful blade. You can earn the Mega Stone for Baxcalibur by playing Ranked Battles.

But that’s not all! Right now, in the base Pokémon Legends: Z-A game, you can get a Diancite through Mystery Gift. This unlocks a side mission called “Shine Bright like a Gemstone” where you can catch the Mythical Pokémon Diancie, and then Mega Evolve it into Mega Diancie! Mimi, Emma’s Espurr, will kick off the mission at the Looker Bureau. Seriously, this DLC looks incredible, and I can’t wait to play it!
