Approximately a month and a half prior to the launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Nintendo unveiled plans for add-on content that will be available for purchase in the upcoming Pokémon game during their September 2025 Nintendo Direct event.

This exhilarating expansion will bring fresh storylines and introduce two spectacular Mega Evolutions for everyone’s favorite Pokémon, Raichu: Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y. Preorders for this awesome content start today on the Nintendo eShop, so don’t miss out on joining the action!
In the short preview of Mega Dimension, no specific storyline was revealed, but it seems that the Mythical Pokemon Hoopa, known for its ability to teleport with golden rings, will play a significant part. As per a press release, unusual anomalies, referred to as “mysterious distortions,” have surfaced in Lumiose City and connect to “Hyperspace Lumiose.” The teaser also displays the designs for two Mega Raichu variations: Mega Raichu X with its double tails and Mega Raichu Y featuring elongated, pointed ears.
The pre-orders for the upcoming DLC include outfits called “Holo-X” and “Holo-Y”, that can be used within Pokemon Legends: Z-A starting from its release on October 16, both on the Nintendo Switch and the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The debut of additional content for the Pokemon Legends: Z-A game was followed by a fresh trailer showcase. This trailer displayed some of the latest Mega Evolutions in action, such as Mega Malamar, Mega Hawlucha, and Mega Victreebel. What stands out is that it also highlighted Mega Evolutions for the starters from Pokemon X and Y – Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja.
During the September Nintendo Direct presentation, it was also unveiled that a new game titled Pokémon Pokopia is in development. This game featuresDitto as its central character and appears to be a fusion of elements from Pokémon, Minecraft, and Animal Crossing.
